CROATIAN ACADEMY OF AMERICA GEORGE ŠTAMBUK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
1. Goal.
The Croatian Academy of America shall award a $10,000 scholarship to a student studying for a master’s or doctorate degree in the United States.
2. Eligibility.
A student applying for the scholarship must meet the following minimum criteria: (i) have completed at least a bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of at least a B or its equivalent; (ii) have been admitted to a master’s or doctoral degree program to an accredited university or college in the United States, and (iii) show a demonstrated dedication to the study and/or promotion of topics related to Croatian history, art, literature and/or culture.
3. Application.
Students must complete the attached application and submit same to the Croatian Academy of America no later than August 30th of each calendar year to be eligible to receive scholarship funds for the next academic year. Applicants may be requested to participate in interviews with or submit additional information to the Croatian Academy of America in connection with their applications.
4. Awards.
Awards of the scholarship shall be announced no later than September 30 of the calendar year in which scholarships shall be awarded. Only persons receiving awards shall be notified that they have been awarded same. The Croatian Academy of America reserves the right not to make any awards of the scholarship in any academic year.
Applicants need not be a member of the Croatian Academy of America to receive a scholarship.
